What’s your experience with textured or non-paper wallcoverings like grasscloth or vinyl in everyday rooms?

Hey everyone, has anyone here actually lived with textured wallcoverings like grasscloth or those chunky vinyl ones in regular living spaces? I finally bit the bullet and put some woven grasscloth in our dining area about two years back thinking it'd add nice warmth without being too loud, but man, dust just loves settling into all those little fibers. Vacuuming helps a bit, but it's definitely more high-maintenance than I expected for an everyday room. Curious what your real-life experiences have been—do they hold up over time or end up feeling like a hassle?

Yeah, grasscloth can be gorgeous when it's fresh, but you're spot on about the dust thing—I've seen it in a few mates' places and it always looks amazing in photos yet kinda tricky to keep pristine day-to-day. In my own flat I went with a heavy-duty vinyl in the hallway years ago because the walls get knocked constantly by bags and bikes, and honestly it's been bulletproof; wipes clean in seconds and no worries about scuffs. Pattern matching on the textured stuff is another level of fiddly though, so if it's not done spot-on you notice every seam. Some folks swear by getting proper wallpaper hangers london to tackle the trickier materials. I've heard they make a massive difference with the prep and hanging technique so it lasts longer without bubbling or peeling. Just my two cents from someone who's tried DIY and then wished I'd called in the pros sooner.
